Scholarship Program
Historically, PFRA sponsored a Scholarship program from 2003 to 2025. In late 2025, the PFRA Board voted to terminate the PFRA Scholarship program and continue instead with the PFR Higher Education Grant program. Please visit PFRA Higher Education Grant Program for more information on this program.

2020 Scholarship Recipients
Congratulations to Garret Poe, Peyton Lammons , and Alexa Reichert. This year, multiple applications were received from many deserving students. Consequently, the PFRA application review committee had a very difficult time being able to select only three recipients as the entire pool of candidates were all outstanding. 2019 Scholarship Recipients
At the July 2019 meeting, the PFRA Scholarship Committee awarded three collegiate scholarships to highly-academic daughters of three Plano firefighters. Congratulates to the 2019 PFRA Scholarship Award recipients Hannah Willits, Addyson Miller, and Katelyn Cardwell. Hannah Willits Hannah is the daughter of FF/engineer Chris Willits. PFRA congratulates Madison Poe, Cole Campbell, and Tionne Stubblefield, who are the 2017 PFRA Scholarship Award recipients. Madison Poe Madison is the daughter of Steve Poe, Battalion Chief at Station 12. She will be attending Texas A&M in the fall, majoring in Political Science and continuing onto Law School to eventually become a family lawyer. 2016 Scholarship Recipients
Congratulations to Madison Hokit, Ellys Rogers, and Matthew Biggerstaff, who each received a $1,000 scholarship from PFRA in the summer of 2016. The PFRA scholarship committee had a very difficult task this year, being able to select only 3 recipients out of the large number of outstanding and qualified applications that were submitted.
