Historically, PFRA sponsored a Scholarship program from 2003 to 2025. In late 2025, the PFRA Board voted to terminate the PFRA Scholarship program and continue instead with the PFR Higher Education Grant program. Please visit PFRA Higher Education Grant Program for more information on this program.

2025 Scholarship Recipients
The Scholarship Committee is excited to announce the following award recipients of the 2025 PFRA Scholarship program. The Committee had a very difficult time this year, being able to select only three recipients, as the entire pool of candidates were all outstanding. 2024 Scholarship Recipients
The PFRA Scholarship Committee received an unprecedented thirteen (13) applications this year from college-bound sons and daughters of Plano firefighters. All applications were from very deserving students with high scores across the board which made the selection of recipients extremely difficult this year. After multiple evaluations and discussions, the Committee is proud to announce these three students are the final recipients of the 2024 PFRA Scholarship Awards. Carsyn R
2023 Scholarship Recipients
After a long and difficult review, the PFRA Scholarship Committee selected four outstanding sons and daughters of Plano firefighters to receive this year’s scholarship awards. Congratulations to Zachary Willits, Megan Westwood, Ciarra Redden, and Landon Clark! Thanks to an anonymous donor, PFRA was able to award four, $1000 scholarships this year instead of only three. PFRA is excited to announce this year’s Scholarship recipients are: Katie Grogan, Aspen Holm, and Hudson Gray. Katie Grogan Katie Grogan is the daughter of Driver Engineer/Paramedic Steven “Scott” Grogan at Station 4, B Shift. Katie graduated from high school in May of 2021 in the top 6% of her class with 18 dual credits from Grayson County
