PFRA is excited about our growth and what the future holds for
our organization. Our vision about our current programs and potential new
programs is discribed below.
Paramedic Shuttle Rehab Operations Education through Characterization
PFRA would like to expand
shuttle operations to cover every weeknight from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and
Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Sundays from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
The limiting factor at this time is finding enough qualified drivers. We
actively recruiting from the Citizen's Fire Academy classes and are confident
that we will have enough trained and certified personnel to further expand our
hours of operation this year.
Traditionally, "Fire-Buff" organizations such as PFRA have provided canteen
services to the departments they serve. PFRA is interested in providing this type of
service and is talking with the leadership of the Plano Fire Department.
5 firefighters from the Plano Fire Department provide a very special service to
the school children of Plano. Dressing as clowns, they deliver fire and life
safety education in a method that children will be entertained and learn the
material. The clown program has delivered over 50 presentations to over 11,000
children in Plano. PFRA is working with these individuals to determine how we can
best support their operation.
