PFRA Hosts Annual TCFAAA Chiefs'
Forum
On
Saturday Feb. 21, PFRA hosted the Texas Citizens
Fire Academy Alumni Association's annual meeting of
the Fire Chiefs' Forum. Ten different Fire
Chiefs representing ten different fire departments
around the DFW metroplex answered questions and
spoke about current activities and projects within
their departments. Aside from the meeting
location, PFRA also provided homemade breakfasts and
coffee to over 40 CFA alumni from other
cities. Many pictures are posted in the photo
gallery here: http://www.pfra.net/Gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=119813

Simple CPR Guidelines
The
Plano Fire Department is actively promoting
the American Heart Association's new
hands-only" CPR method within the public. No
more rescue breaths and counting
compressions. This two-step hands-only
method is now easy enough to teach large
groups of people effective CPR in less than
10 minutes. PFRA is teaming up with PFD in
demonstrating and teaching the new CPR
method at all of our public education
and fire safety events.

Your
Grocery Purchases Benefit PFRA
Kroger, Tom Thumb, and Albertsons
allow you to link your grocery "reward"
card for daily purchases to a non-profit
organization, and PFRA has qualified to
participate with all three
businesses. To get started,
click one of the icons below and print
out their forms.
At
Kroger, scan your Kroger Plus
Card, then ask the cashier to scan
this form once. PFRA will
then be linked to your Plus Card
until April 30 of the current year
(please re-submit the form to a
cashier annually). |
For
Tom Thumb, complete the
form and
take it to their Customer Service
Counter and they will link it to
your Tom Thumb Rewards Card. |
Albertsons
no longer uses a reward card, but
there is a card that you can swipe
with your transaction that will
benefit PFRA. Please send an
email to Shelley Jones shelleyjo1@aol.com
or call 214-914-7644 and she will
deliver or mail a card to you.
|
These
cards
are not restricted, so you can pass out
this information to family and
friends. After you are enrolled in
their programs, Tom Thumb, Kroger and
Albertsons will each donate 1% of your
store purchase to PFRA. All funds
collected are used in our support of PFD.
