Honor Their Sacrifices
What
is worse than losing a firefighter in a line of duty death?
Learning that another firefigher died last year in the same way, and,
reading investigation reports that show the repeated accident was
preventable.
Plano firefighter John Barrett at Station 8B is working to prevent
future LODDs that are caused by the same mistakes made in previous
fatalities. Lessons learned and investigation reports do not
always propogate outside a local community. HonorTheirSacrifices.com is
a website dedicated to hosting these summary reports and sharing across
all departments nationwide.
Visit HonorTheirSacrifices.com to learn more
information about John's quest. Buy a T-shirt
to support the website's operating costs, and be sure to watch the
video that
explains the "Why" behind this program.

Your Grocery Card Benefits PFRA
Kroger and
Tom Thumb allow you to link your grocery "reward" card to a non-profit
organization, and PFRA has qualified to be a recipient for both
programs. To get started, click one of the icons below and print out
their forms.
At Kroger, scan your
Kroger Plus Card, then ask the cashier to scan this form once, and from
then
on, PFRA will be
linked to your Plus Card until May 2009 (renew by rescanning). For Tom
Thumb, complete
the form one time and take it to their Customer Service Counter and
they will link it to your Tom Thumb Rewards Card. These cards are
not restricted, so you can pass out this information to family and
friends. For each purchase you make at Kroger or Tom Thumb
and use this program, these grocers will donate 1% of your total
purchase amount to PFRA. All funds collected are used in our
support of PFD.
